Babe Ruth ate 2,455 hot dogs in 1927.   Orson Welles ate 3,106 hot dogs in 1977.   Wilt Chamberlain slept with 100 women in 1962.

On this day in 1927, Babe Ruth becomes the highest paid baseball player ($70,000 per year). He will go on to have a record season, hitting sixty home runs, eating two thousand, four hundred and fifty-five hot dogs, and sleeping with ninety-seven women. The home run record will be broken in 1961 (Maris) and again in 1998 (McGwire and Sosa); the hot dog record in 1977 (Welles); and the women record in 1962 (Chamberlain).
